How to Check the Year of Issuance of a Banknote

According to Point b, Clause 1, Article 4 of the Regulation on Management of Newly Printed Currency Series (issued together with Decision 28/2007/QD-NHNN), it is stipulated:

For the types of currency announced by the State Bank of Vietnam from 2003 onwards, the series includes a serial letter and a sequence of 08 natural numbers, in which the two numbers adjacent to the serial letter are the last two digits of the year of production of that banknote, and the following 06 numbers are the natural number sequence printed starting from 000001.

For banknotes issued from 2003 onwards, the year of production of the banknote can be determined through the two numbers adjacent to the serial letter. If that number is 15, then the year of production of the banknote is 2015.
