Storage and Handling of Stored Petroleum Samples for Inspection: What Are the Regulations?
Section 3.6 of Decision 457/QD-TDC of 2016 on Guidelines for Fuel Sampling, issued by the Directorate for Standards, Metrology, and Quality, stipulates the retention and handling of retained fuel samples as follows:
- Sample Retention:
+ The inspection and examination authority is responsible for storing and preserving the remaining samples until the end of the retention period stated in the Sampling Record (not less than 30 days from the sampling date). Samples must be kept in a well-ventilated area, under a roof, and protected against fire and explosion.
+ In cases where the sample transportation time is prolonged, the sampling authority is responsible for ensuring that the storage and transportation process maintains the integrity of the sample and ensures safety and fire explosion warnings. The retention period is extended accordingly to ensure sufficient time for handling retained samples when necessary.
- Handling of Retained Samples:
+ If the retention period expires without any complaint, the inspection and examination authority will handle the retained samples according to current regulations.
+ For other cases, the handling of retained samples is carried out according to the agreement between the sampling unit and the enterprise.
The above is the advisory content.
