Procedure for Reissuance of Real Estate Brokerage License Due to Expiration

The editorial team received an email from Mr. Khang (kk***@gmail.com) requesting specific guidance on the procedure for reissuing a real estate brokerage license due to expiration.

Legal Basis: Law on Real Estate Business 2014 and Circular 11/2015/TT-BXD

1. Conditions:

An individual shall be granted a real estate brokerage practice certificate when meeting the following conditions:

- Full civil act capacity;

- Having graduated from high school or higher;

- Having passed the examination on real estate brokerage knowledge, specifically:

+ Achieving at least 70 points in the basic knowledge test (out of 100 points)

+ Achieving at least 70 points in the specialized knowledge test (out of 100 points)

2. Dossier components:

- Dossier as prescribed in Article 10 of Circular 11/2015/TT-BXD;

- The old certificate (original) in case it has expired, or a certified copy in case the certificate has not expired.

3. Implementing procedures:

Holders of expired or nearly expired certificates who wish to be reissued a certificate must take an examination according to the following regulations:

- In case the re-examination registration is at the locality where the certificate was issued, only the basic knowledge test according to Circular 11/2015/TT-BXD is required for certificate issuance, with the certificate number following the old number, and the certificate stating "second issuance", "third issuance" on page 01 (according to the form in Appendix 4c of Circular 11/2015/TT-BXD);

- In case of registration for re-examination in another locality, the re-examination procedure must be conducted as for a new certificate issuance but only the basic knowledge test is required.

Within 10 working days from the date of receiving a complete and valid dossier, the Department of Construction will organize printing, signing, and issuing of certificates (clearly stating "second issuance", "third issuance"...).

5. Processing Time Limit: 10 working days from the date of receiving a complete and valid dossier

6. Fee: 200,000 VND per practice certificate

7. Certificate Validity Period: 5 years
