Which individuals are eligible for priority points in 10th grade admission in Vietnam?

Based on Clause 2, Article 7 of the Regulations on Admission to Secondary Schools and High Schools issued together with Circular 11/2014/TT-BGDDT (amended and supplemented by Clause 4, Article 1 of Circular 05/2018/TT-BGDDT and Article 1 of Circular 18/2014/TT-BGDDT), the direct admission and preferential points are stipulated as follows:

2. Eligible individuals for priority points.

The Department of Education and Training determines the additional points for each group of individuals eligible for priority points, with a point difference of 0.5 between the two consecutive priority groups, calculated on a 10-point scale. These groups include:

a) Group 1:

- Children of martyrs;

- Children of war invalids with a disability rate of 81% or higher;

- Children of sick soldiers with a disability rate of 81% or higher;

- Children of individuals issued with "Certification of Policy Beneficiary" as a war invalid with a disability rate of 81% or higher;

- Children of individuals affected by chemical toxins due to revolutionary activities;

- Children of individuals involved in the revolutionary movement before January 1, 1945;

- Children of individuals involved in the revolutionary movement from January 1, 1945, to the August Revolution in 1945.

b) Group 2:

- Children of heroic armed forces personnel, children of labor heroes, children of Vietnamese heroic mothers;

- Children of war invalids with a disability rate below 81%;

- Children of sick soldiers with a disability rate below 81%;

- Children of individuals issued with "Certification of Policy Beneficiary" as a disabled veteran with a disability rate below 81%;

What documents are required for the 10th grade admission application in Vietnam?

Based on the provisions in Article 6 of the Regulations on Admission to Secondary Schools and High Schools issued together with Circular 11/2014/TT-BGDDT (amended by Article 2 of Circular 05/2018/TT-BGDDT), the 10th grade admission application in Vietnam is stipulated as follows:

Admission application:

1. Certified copy of valid birth certificate.

2. Graduation certificate from secondary school or temporary secondary school graduation certificate, or certified copy of secondary school graduation certificate.

3. Academic transcript from secondary school.

4. Confirmation of preferential treatment issued by the competent authority (if applicable).

5. Confirmation issued by the People's Committee of the commune, ward, or township (for students who graduated from secondary school in previous academic years) stating that they have not been serving a prison sentence, undergoing community sentence, or violating the law.

Therefore, the 10th grade admission dossier includes the following documents:

- Certified copy of valid birth certificate.

- Graduation certificate from secondary school or temporary secondary school graduation certificate, or certified copy of secondary school graduation certificate.

- Academic transcript from secondary school.
