Is Tuition Reduced for Studying the Applied Mathematics Major?
Article 8 of Decree 86/2015/ND-CP stipulates the categories eligible for tuition fee reduction as follows:
- The categories eligible for a 70% tuition fee reduction include:
+ Pupils and students studying traditional and specific arts in public and private cultural and arts schools, including: ethnic folk musicians, traditional Hue musicians, Southern Vietnam amateur musicians, theatrical actors, folk performing arts, Ca tru art, Bai choi art, traditional musical instrument performers;
+ Pupils and students in specialized fields of royal court music, Cheo, Tuong, Cai luong, dance, circus; certain vocations that are arduous, toxic, and dangerous in vocational education. The list of arduous, toxic, and dangerous vocations is stipulated by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs;
+ Kindergarten children and students who are ethnic minorities (not from very small ethnic minorities) in areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions as stipulated by the competent authority.
- The categories eligible for a 50% tuition fee reduction include:
+ Kindergarten children and students who are children of officials, workers, and public employees whose father or mother had a labor accident or an occupational disease and are receiving regular allowances;
+ Kindergarten children and primary and secondary school students whose parents belong to near-poor households as stipulated by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.
Thus, your child studying the Applied Mathematics major at Saigon University is not eligible for a tuition fee reduction.
