Medication Expenses for Students at Reform Schools
Section 1, Article 29 of Decree 133/2020/ND-CP (Effective from December 25, 2020) stipulates the policies for medical care for students in reformatory schools as follows:
When students arrive at the reformatory school, the school's medical staff will organize health examinations and create health monitoring records. During the time students comply with the judicial educational measures at the reformatory school, the school will periodically organize comprehensive health examinations for students at least every 6 months, based on the specific situation of the unit, including: measuring height, weight, average chest circumference, checking parameters such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, and conducting comprehensive clinical examinations by specialties. The cost of periodic health examinations for students will be paid according to the price framework stipulated by the Ministry of Health. The reformatory school shall regularly take measures for epidemic prevention and control; implement measures for drug rehabilitation, prevention of infection, treatment of HIV/AIDS, and other infectious diseases for students. The health examination for students will depend on the conditions, the time of compliance with the decision to enter the reformatory school, the specific situation of each reformatory school, and the results will be recorded in the files to manage and monitor students' health. Medicine costs for common illnesses for students are provided equivalent to 04 kg of ordinary rice per student per month.
Thus, according to the aforementioned regulations, the monthly medicine costs for common illnesses for each student are provided equivalent to 04 kg of ordinary rice per student.
