Is Cremation Permitted for Inmates Executed by the Death Penalty?
In Clause 6 of Article 83 of the Law on Execution of Criminal Judgments 2019, it is stipulated:
In case relatives or representatives of the person to be executed by death penalty wish to receive the ashes of the executed person and bear the cremation costs themselves, the provincial-level criminal judgment execution agency or the military zone-level criminal judgment execution agency shall hand over the body and assist in transporting the body to the cremation site.
=> Thus, according to the above provision, the person executed by death penalty is still allowed to be cremated. The cremation cost shall be borne by the relatives or representatives of the executed person.
