Inflicting Self-Injury Will Result in One Ankle Being Shacked
Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 23 of the Law on Temporary Detention and Custody 2015, it is stipulated:
Individuals in disciplinary isolation cells who exhibit acts of severe resistance against the detention facility, attempt suicide, self-inflict injuries, or violate the life and health of others may have one leg shackled. The duration of the leg shackle is determined by the head of the detention facility. Leg shackles are not applied to disciplined individuals who are under 18 years old, women, severely disabled individuals or more, and individuals aged 70 or older. During the isolation period in the disciplinary cell, detainees and temporarily detained individuals are restricted from visits, sending, receiving letters, and receiving gifts.
Thus, the practice of shackling one leg for self-inflicted injuries is entirely in accordance with legal regulations.
Respectfully!
