Can People's Jurors Proceed to Adjudicate the Case?

In the field of criminal procedure, do the people's jurors have the authority to adjudicate a case, or is this authority solely vested in the presiding judge?

Based on Clause 1b, Article 46 of the 2015 Criminal Procedure Code, the provisions are as follows:

- The lay judge assigned to a first-instance trial of a criminal case has the following duties and powers:

+ Studying the case file before the court session;

+ Conducting the trial of the case;

+ Carrying out procedural activities and voting on matters within the jurisdiction of the Trial Council.

Thus, the lay judge still has the right to conduct criminal case trials in accordance with the aforementioned legal provisions.

Respectfully!
