Can Foreign Nationals Be Appointed as Judicial Experts?
Based on Article 7 of the 2012 Law on Judicial Expertise, the provisions are as follows:
Vietnamese citizens residing in Vietnam who meet the following criteria may be considered for appointment as judicial experts:
- Have good health and moral character;
- Possess a university degree or higher and have at least 5 years of practical professional experience in their trained field.

Thus, according to the above provisions, the condition is to be a Vietnamese citizen, in which case foreigners will not meet the requirements for appointment as judicial experts.
