"Having Served at Least Half of the Probation Period, Will the Probation Period be Reduced?"

Based on Article 6 of Decree 01/2018/ND-HDTP regarding the conditions for shortening the probation period as follows:

Individuals granted early release from prison may have their probation period shortened if the following conditions are met:

1. They have served at least one-half of the probation period;

2. They have shown significant improvement, demonstrated by adhering strictly to the law and fulfilling obligations during the probation period; actively engaging in education, labor, rectifying mistakes, and achieving merits in work production, national security protection, etc., and being commended by provincial-level or higher authorities.

Accordingly, individuals who have served at least one-half of the probation period do not automatically qualify unless they also meet the condition stipulated in Clause 2 above. Note that the fulfillment of these conditions does not guarantee the shortening of the probation period.
