Which Blood Units and Blood Products Are Not Allowed for Use?
Do not use blood units or blood components as stipulated in Clause 2, Article 41 of Circular 26/2013/TT-BYT. To be specific:
- Perforation, opening, cracking, or leakage at the storage bag, tube, or infusion site;
- Abnormal layering or lack of stratification among blood components when settled or centrifuged;
- Abnormal color:
+ Pink or red color at the top interface of the plasma and red blood cells or throughout the plasma;
+ Plasma with abnormal coloring;
+ Red blood cells changing to a purplish-red, dark black, or another abnormal color.
- Presence of clots, specks, or precipitates;
- Presence of a film on the surface.
