Where to Apply for a Maternity Leave Certificate?
According to Clause 1, Article 18 of Circular 56/2017/TT-BYT regarding the issuance of maternity leave certificates:
Authority to issue maternity leave certificates:
- General hospitals with obstetrics departments or specialized obstetrics hospitals that have been licensed to provide medical examination and treatment services are authorized to issue maternity leave certificates for treating obstetric-related diseases;
- General hospitals that have been licensed to provide medical examination and treatment services and the Medical Appraisal Council are authorized to issue maternity leave certificates for treating systemic diseases;
- Practitioners working at medical examination and treatment facilities as specified in points a and b of this Clause are authorized to sign maternity leave certificates for treating both obstetric-related diseases and systemic diseases as assigned by the head of the respective medical examination and treatment facility.
Thus, you may go to general hospitals with obstetrics departments, specialized obstetrics hospitals, or licensed general hospitals to obtain the maternity leave certificate due to medical conditions.
