When I have my business registration certificate in food production and trading,will I be issued with a certificate of food safety eligibility in Vietnam?

In Clause 1, Article 34 of the Law on Food Safety 2010, establishments and conditions for the grant and withdrawal of certificates of food safety eligibility are as follows:

1. An establishment shall be granted a certificate of food safety eligibility when it fully meets the following conditions:

a/ Having adequate conditions for assuring food safety suitable to each type of food production and trading as prescribed in Chapter IV of this Law;

b/ Having registered for food production and trading as indicated in its business registration certificate.

Thus, in your case, if you have registered for food production and trading as indicated in ypur business registration certificate, you may be granted a certificate of food safety eligibility in Vietnam. However, you need to have adequate conditions for assuring food safety suitable to each type of food production and trading as prescribed in Chapter IV of the Law on Food Safety 2010, then you will be granted a certificate of food safety eligibility.

Is there only one authority that issues certificates of food safety eligibility in Vietnam?

Article 35 of the Law on Food Safety 2010 stipulates competence to grant and withdraw certificates of food safety eligibility:

The Minister of Health, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Minister of Industry and Trade shall specify the competence to grant and withdraw certificates of food safety eligibility in their assigned management domains.

Thus, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Minister of Industry and Trade will specify the competence to grant according to their assigned management domains in Vietnam.
