What should be displayed on the labels of medicine and pharmaceutical raw materials on the market in Vietnam?
According to Article 61 of the Law on Pharmacy 2016, the labels of medicine and pharmaceutical raw materials on the market in Vietnam must display the following contents:
- Name of the medicine, pharmaceutical raw materials
- Dosage form, except for pharmaceutical raw materials
- Components, content, concentration, or mass of pharmaceutical substances, medicinal ingredients of the medicine, pharmaceutical raw materials; labels of traditional medicine listed as state secrets and hereditary medicine may omit certain medicinal ingredients, content, and mass but must include the phrase “The medicine formula is a state secret” or “The medicine formula is a hereditary secret”

In which cases will the marketing authorization of medicine and pharmaceutical raw materials in Vietnam be revoked?
According to Article 58 of the Law on Pharmacy 2016, the marketing authorization of medicine and pharmaceutical raw materials will be revoked in the following cases:
Article 58. Revocation of Marketing Authorization for medicine and pharmaceutical raw materials
- The marketing authorization for medicine and pharmaceutical raw materials is revoked in the following cases:
a) The medicine is recalled due to a level 1 violation;
b) Within 60 months, there are two batches of medicine mandatorily recalled for level 2 violations, or three or more batches are found to have quality violations;
c) Imported medicine are recalled by a foreign competent authority, and the product certificate serves as the basis for the Ministry of Health to issue marketing authorization for medicine, pharmaceutical raw materials in Vietnam;
d) Marketing authorization for medicine, pharmaceutical raw materials is granted based on forged documents;
e) medicine, pharmaceutical raw materials are produced not at the registered address according to registration dossiers;
f) Pharmaceutical substances, medicinal ingredients, or medicine containing pharmaceutical substances, medicinal ingredients are deemed unsafe or ineffective for users by the World Health Organization, competent authorities of Vietnam, or the country of origin;
g) The manufacturing facility or the marketing authorization holder requests the withdrawal of the marketing authorization for medicine, pharmaceutical raw materials in Vietnam.
- The Minister of Health provides detailed regulations on the dossier and procedures for revoking the marketing authorization for medicine, pharmaceutical raw materials.
According to the above regulations, the marketing authorization for medicine and pharmaceutical raw materials will be revoked in the following cases:
- The medicine is recalled due to a level 1 violation
- Within 60 months, there are two batches of medicine mandatorily recalled for level 2 violations or three or more batches are found to have quality violations
