Malaria Epidemic: An epidemic is the occurrence of an infectious disease with the number of cases exceeding the normal expected number within a defined period in a specific area. An epidemic area is an area identified by a competent authority as having an epidemic. A high-risk area for an epidemic is an area adjacent to the epidemic area or where epidemic-causing factors appear.
