Vietnam: What are the regulations on follow-up after hospital discharge for individuals who have previously been infected with COVID-19?
Follow-up after hospital discharge for individuals who have previously been infected with COVID-19 in Vietnam is stipulated in Section IX of Decision 3416/QD-BYT of 2021. To be specific:
- The patients must remain in appropriate isolation at the family under the supervision of local health authorities and the local centers for disease control and prevention for an additional 14 days and monitor their body temperature at the family twice daily. If the body temperature exceeds 38°C in two consecutive measurements or there are any abnormal clinical signs, the patient should immediately visit a medical facility for prompt examination and treatment.
- Handover and transportation of patients after hospital discharge shall comply with according to Official Dispatch No. 425/CV-BCD dated January 19, 2021, from the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and other replacing documents (if any).
