Surveillance of Malaria Cases during Malaria Elimination Phase
Pursuant to section 1.1.1a, subsection 1.1, section 1, part IV of the Guidelines for Malaria Surveillance and Prevention (issued together with Decision 4922/QD-BYT in 2021), the regulations for Malaria Case Surveillance during the malaria elimination phase are as follows:
Malaria Case Surveillance
- Early detection and diagnosis of malaria: All suspected malaria cases must have blood samples taken for malaria parasite testing using microscopy, rapid diagnostic tests, or molecular biology techniques (if available) to promptly detect malaria.
- Conduct thorough information collection for all cases.
- Classify cases to take appropriate measures.
- Report malaria cases and conduct malaria case investigations (Appendix 2) to the infectious disease surveillance management system within 48 hours.
- Analyze collected epidemiological data by time, location, and person (especially children under 5 years old, pregnant women, individuals going into the forest and sleeping in fields, cross-border interactions...), epidemiological history, and location of detection. Compare with the week, month, and same period of the previous year.
Respectfully!
