Subjects Eligible for Free HIV Antiviral Medications

At Clause 5, Article 4 of Circular 28/2018/TT-BYT regarding the management of treatment for individuals infected with HIV, individuals exposed to HIV at medical facilities issued by the Minister of Health, effective from January 1, 2019, it is stipulated that the subjects guaranteed by the state budget and provided with free anti-HIV drugs include:

a) Individuals exposed to HIV, individuals infected with HIV due to occupational accidents, individuals infected with HIV due to medical technique risks;

b) Pregnant women infected with HIV, pregnant women with indications for prophylactic treatment to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV;

c) Children under 6 years of age infected with HIV, children with indications for prophylactic treatment to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
