Storage Conditions and Shelf Life of Refrigerators: What Are the Regulations?
Precipitated product, known as cryoprecipitate, is a preparation obtained from the precipitate formed during the thawing process of fresh frozen plasma at temperatures at or below 10°C. Cryoprecipitate can be further refined and inactivated of viruses through chemical treatment or heat.
Storage conditions and shelf life of cryoprecipitate are stipulated in Clause 3, Article 34 of Circular 26/2013/TT-BYT. Specifically:
- Stored at temperatures at or below minus 18°C (-18°C): The shelf life of cryoprecipitate is not more than 12 months;
- Cryoprecipitate that has been thawed:
+ When stored at temperatures from 2°C to 6°C, it must be used immediately or within 6 hours from the start of thawing;
+ Must not be refrozen after being thawed.
