Steps for Administering COVID-19 Vaccination

I have registered to get the Covid-19 vaccine. What steps will be taken for citizens before the vaccination?

According to the Guidance on Organizing Covid-19 Vaccination Sessions issued along with Decision No. 3588/QD-BYT in 2021, the specific steps for vaccination are as follows:

Step 1: Receiving and classifying individuals coming for vaccination at the reception area:

- Providing masks to vaccination recipients (if they do not have one).

- Measuring the body temperature of the vaccination recipients.

- Guiding and checking vaccination recipients and accompanying family members to complete electronic health declarations or paper-based health declarations.

For individuals who have not registered before coming for vaccination, the vaccination facility guides citizens to register on the system and follow the instructions from the system.

Step 2: Completing the COVID-19 vaccine vaccination consent form:

For those who do not have a COVID-19 vaccine vaccination consent form on the COVID-19 vaccination management platform, medical staff provide the COVID-19 vaccine vaccination consent form according to the template in Appendix 2 issued along with this Guidance. The vaccination recipient fills out information and signs the consent form before screening.

Step 3: Pre-vaccination screening for COVID-19 vaccine according to Decision No. 3445/QD-BYT dated July 15, 2021, of the Ministry of Health.

- Fully fill out the screening results information on the COVID-19 vaccination management platform. If the vaccination facility cannot fill out this information on the system, they must print the screening form.

- Medical staff perform the screening and fill in the information on the screening form.

If eligible for vaccination, the recipient is guided to the vaccination area and advised about the effects and benefits of the vaccine, as well as any possible adverse events after vaccination. Notify the vaccination recipient and guardian about the vaccine's effects, dosage, and administration route. Provide consultation on post-vaccination monitoring for the COVID-19 vaccine based on the contents in Appendix 3.

If the individual is not eligible for vaccination, provide advice for transferring to another vaccination facility or returning home.

Step 4: Administering the vaccine

Administer the COVID-19 vaccine to the recipient according to the correct indications, ensuring safety as stipulated in Article 11 of Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BYT dated November 12, 2018, of the Ministry of Health.

Respectfully!
