On November 1, 2024, the Minister of Health issued Decision 3222/QD-BYT of 2024 concerning the Prices of Medical Examination and Treatment Services at Cho Ray Hospital.

Note: The cost of medical examination and treatment services includes direct costs and salary, wages, allowances, and other contributions as regulated; where salary costs are calculated according to a statutory pay rate of 2.34 million VND, excluding the reward fund.

When is the practice license for medical examination and treatment reissued in Vietnam?
Under Article 31 of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023, regulations on reissuing practice licenses are as follows:
Article 31. Reissuing Practice Licenses
1. Reissuing practice licenses applies to the following cases:
a) The practice license is lost or damaged;
b) There is a change in information as stipulated in point a, clause 3, Article 27 of this Law or incorrect information as stipulated in clause 3, Article 27 of this Law;
c) The person has had their practice license revoked and is eligible for reissuance as per the regulations of the Government of Vietnam;
d) The practice license was issued without proper authority;
e) Other cases as per the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.
- Conditions for reissuing a practice license include:
a) A practice license has been granted;
b) Meeting the appropriate conditions for the reissuance request;
c) Not falling within the cases stipulated in Article 20 of this Law.

Individuals holding a practice license for medical examination and treatment are considered for reissuance in the following instances:
- The practice license is lost or damaged.
- Changes in the information on the practice license include:
+ Full name.
+ Date of birth.
+ Personal identification number for Vietnamese practitioners.
+ Passport number and nationality for foreign practitioners.
- Or errors in information on the practice license include:
+ Full name.
+ Date of birth.
+ Personal identification number for Vietnamese practitioners.
+ Passport number and nationality for foreign practitioners.
+ Professional title.
+ Scope of practice.
+ Validity period of the practice license.
- Individuals whose practice license has been revoked and are eligible for reissuance as per the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.
- The practice license was issued without proper authority.
- Other cases as per the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.
Can practitioners register to practice medical examination and treatment at multiple facilities in Vietnam?
According to Article 36 of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023, the principles for registering to practice are as follows:
Article 36. Principles for Registering to Practice
- Practitioners are allowed to register to practice at multiple medical examination and treatment facilities but must not overlap the time of practicing among these facilities.
- Practitioners may register to work in one or several professional positions at the same medical examination and treatment facility, but must ensure the quality of work at the assigned positions:
a) Medical examination and treatment in accordance with the practice license;
b) In charge of a specialized department;
c) Responsible for the professional aspects of the medical examination and treatment facility.
3. Practitioners are permitted to perform medical examination and treatment without registering to practice in the following cases:
a) Emergency services outside medical examination and treatment facilities, except for pre-hospital emergency care personnel;
b) Being mobilized or deployed by competent authorities to participate in medical examination and treatment activities in the event of natural disasters, catastrophes, infectious diseases of group A, or emergency situations;
c) Performing periodic humanitarian medical examination and treatment;
d) Medical examination and treatment during the process of transferring technical expertise or providing technical support at other medical examination and treatment facilities for a short term;
e) Other cases as regulated by the Minister of Health.
According to the above regulations, practitioners in medical examination and treatment are allowed to register to practice at multiple medical examination and treatment facilities but must not overlap the time of practice among these facilities.
