Practice at the clinic for 12 months, is it eligible for a medical practice certificate?
According to Article 24 of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, 2009, which stipulates the verification of practical training as follows:
- Individuals with professional qualifications related to healthcare granted or recognized in Vietnam, before being issued a practicing certificate, must undergo a period of practice at the following medical examination and treatment facilities:
a) 18 months of practice at a hospital, involving research with patient beds (hereinafter collectively referred to as a hospital) for doctors;
b) 12 months of practice at a hospital for physicians;
c) 09 months of practice at a hospital with an obstetrics department or at a maternity home for midwives.
d) 09 months of practice at a medical examination and treatment facility for nurses and technicians.
- The head of the medical examination and treatment facility is responsible for providing written confirmation of the practice process for those who have practiced at their facility, including details on the duration, professional competence, and professional ethics.
Based on the above provisions, before being issued a practicing certificate, physicians must undergo 12 months of practice at a hospital. Therefore, the period of practice at your clinic is insufficient to qualify for a medical examination and treatment practicing certificate.
Respectfully!
