Based on Section 6.5.5, Subsection 6.5, Section VI, Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of COVID-19 in Children (Issued together with Decision 5155/QD-BYT of 2021) stipulating other treatment and care measures when a newborn is critically ill with COVID-19 as follows:

Nutrition
Refer to Section VIII.
Monitoring the Patient
- In cases of corticoid use: if CRP is normal, gradually reduce the corticoid dose over 15 days, each phase within 5 days (2 mg/kg/day for the first 5 days, 1 mg/kg/day for the next 5 days, 0.5 mg/kg/day for the last 5 days, and then stop medication).
- Cardiovascular: perform electrocardiogram and echocardiogram within 7-14 days and 4-6 weeks after symptoms appear or earlier if necessary.
- Continue using aspirin for 4-6 weeks from when all the following indicators are normal: coronary, left ventricular systolic function on echocardiogram, CRP, platelet count.
Sincerely!
