Is Excessive Hand Sweating a Disqualifier for Military Service?
Based on Appendix 1 Classification of health according to physical condition and illness issued together with Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, it is stipulated:
Sweating in the palms or entire hands, feet:
- Mild level: Score 2
- Moderate level: Score 4
- Severe level: Score 5
According to the provisions of Clause 4 Article 9 of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, the classification of health for citizens participating in the military service health examination is based on the scores given for 8 criteria recorded on the military service health assessment form. To be specific:
- Category 1: 8 criteria all scoring 1;
- Category 2: At least 1 criterion scoring 2;
- Category 3: At least 1 criterion scoring 3;
- Category 4: At least 1 criterion scoring 4;
- Category 5: At least 1 criterion scoring 5;
- Category 6: At least 1 criterion scoring 6.
Thus, in the case of sweating in the palms depending on the severity, the health classification would be category 2, 4, or 5.
Point a Clause 3 Article 4 of Circular 148/2018/TT-BQP stipulates the health standards for military recruitment as follows:
Selection of citizens with health categories 1, 2, and 3 according to the provisions of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP dated June 30, 2016, of the Minister of Health - Minister of National Defense stipulating the health examination for performing military service.
The level of sweating in your palms will be determined by the military service health examination council. Depending on the severity, you may or may not participate in military service. If it is a mild case, you may still participate in military service.
Sincerely!
