In 2023: Will the Ministry of Health will strengthen communication on social networking platforms via Facebook, Tiktok in Vietnam?

On April 18, 2023, the Ministry of Health issued the Decision 1886/QD-BYT on the health information and communication plan in 2023.

Pursuant to Subsection 1.8, Section 4 (Health information and communication plan in 2023) issued together with the Decision 1886/QD-BYT stipulating as follows:

Strengthen communication on social networking platforms

Enhance communication on social networking platforms (Facebook, Zalo, Youtube, Wikipedia, Tiktok, Lotus...). Strengthen the connection of social networking sites of the Ministry of Health such as: Vietnam Health Fanpage, Youtube channel of Ministry of Health, Zalo page of Ministry of Health, Lotus page of Ministry of Health, Tiktok page of Ministry of Health with social networking sites of units under the Ministry, hospitals, units and localities.

Thus, one of the main activities of the Health Information and Communication Plan 2023 is that the Ministry of Health will strengthen communication on social networking platforms such as Facebook, Tiktok, Youtube, etc

In addition, the Ministry of Health also strengthens the connection of social networking sites of the Ministry of Health such as Vietnam Health Fanpage, Youtube channel of Ministry of Health, Zalo page of Ministry of Health, Lotus page of Ministry of Health, Tiktok page of Ministry of Health with social networking sites of units under the Ministry, hospitals, units and localities.

What activities does the health information and communication plan in 2023 have at the central government in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Subsection 1, Section 4 (Health information and communication plan in 2023) issued together with the Decision 1886/QD-BYT stipulating activities of the health information and communication plan in 2023 at the central government as follows:

(1) Advise and provide information on health work to leaders of the Party, Government, National Assembly, Ministries, departments, branches and mass organizations of the Central Committee through reportages, documents, conferences and seminars , seminars, forums, rallies, etc in order to gain the support of leaders at all levels in formulating and promulgating policies, investing resources for health work.

(2) Strengthen effective communication on newly issued policies

(3) Develop and implement coordination programs on communication on health work between the Ministry of Health and central ministries, agencies and mass organizations in order to improve the effectiveness of inter-sectoral coordination and mobilize the participation of the Ministry of Health with associations and mass organizations in the care, protection and improvement of people's health.

(4) Strengthen coordination between the Ministry of Health and the press management agency, press and media agencies.

(5) Continue to effectively carry out risk communication for COVID-19 prevention and control and safe vaccination against COVID-19.

(6) Promote health education and communication so that people can actively practice healthy behaviors

(7) Implement key communication models and activities

(8) Promote communication on social networks

(9) Build the capacity of health communication staff

(10) Monitor and process information related to medical work, detect early, provide accurate and timely information when incidents and problems occur in medical examination, treatment and prevention. diseases and management areas of the health sector.

(11) Communicate results and achievements of health work activities, educating traditional history of the health sector.

(12) Organize supervision, assessment, preliminary review, summary, and experience in health information and communication activities for units and localities.

(13) Strengthen international cooperation in the field of health communication.
