      1. The practice time for medical examination and treatment for the title of doctor is 12 months, including:

      a) The practice time for specialized medical examination and treatment is 09 months;

      b) The practice time for specialized medical examination and treatment in emergency resuscitation is 03 months.

      The practice time for medical examination and treatment for the title of physician is 09 months, including:

      a) The practice time for specialized medical examination and treatment is 06 months;

      b) The practice time for specialized medical examination and treatment in emergency resuscitation is 03 months.

      In what cases is a new license to practice medicine issued in Vietnam?

      Based on Article 13 of Decree 96/2023/ND-CP, a new license to practice medicine is issued in the following cases:

      (1) The first-time applicant for a license to practice medicine;

      (2) The practitioner changes their professional title as stated on the license to practice medicine;

      (3) The person falls into one of the following cases:

      - The license to practice medicine is revoked due to the application for a license to practice medicine not meeting the prescribed requirements, or the application for a license to practice medicine is submitted more than 60 months after the date of revocation.

      - In the case of the license to practice medicine being revoked due to forgery of documents in the application for a license to practice medicine, a new application for a license to practice medicine can only be submitted in the following cases:

      + In the case of forgery of diplomas or documents confirming the results of the professional competence assessment in the application for a license to practice medicine.

      + In the case of forgery of other documents in the application for a license to practice medicine.

      - The license to practice medicine is revoked due to the wrong professional title or scope of practice stated on the license compared to the application for a license to practice medicine, and the application for a license to practice medicine is submitted more than 60 months after the date of revocation.

      - In the case of the license to practice medicine being revoked due to not practicing for a continuous period of 24 months, within 36 months from the date of revocation of the license to practice medicine, if the person whose license is revoked does not complete the practice, they must follow the procedures for obtaining a new license to practice medicine.

      - The license to practice medicine is revoked due to falling into one of the following cases, and the application for a license to practice medicine is submitted more than 60 months after the date of revocation:

      + Being prosecuted for criminal liability for professional violations.

      + Being under probation, non-custodial reform punishment for professional violations.

      + Being under probation for a person convicted of imprisonment related to professional competence but released conditionally before the expiration of the sentence.

      + Being under imprisonment or being subject to administrative handling measures of compulsory education or compulsory rehabilitation.

      + Being prohibited from practicing medicine according to a legally effective criminal judgment or being restricted from conducting medical examination and treatment activities according to a decision of a competent authority.

      + Losing civil act capacity or having difficulties in perception, self-control, or limited civil act capacity.

      - The license is revoked due to professional errors determined by the professional council to the extent that the license must be revoked.

      - The license is revoked for the second time due to professional errors determined by the professional council, resulting in the suspension of practice for the second time within the validity period of the license.

      - The license is revoked for the second time due to professional ethics violations determined by the competent state authority, resulting in the suspension of practice within the validity period of the license.

      - The license to practice medicine is revoked at the request of the practitioner, and the application for a license to practice medicine is submitted more than 60 months after the date of revocation.

      [4] The practitioner fails to follow the renewal procedures.

      [5] The practitioner has been granted a license to practice medicine by the armed forces but no longer works in the armed forces and does not want to continue using the granted license.       + Date of birth;

      + Personal identification number for Vietnamese practitioners;

      + Passport number and nationality for foreign practitioners

      - Errors in the following information:

      + Full name;

      + Date of birth;

      + Personal identification number for Vietnamese practitioners;

      + Passport number and nationality for foreign practitioners

      + Professional title;

      + Scope of practice;

      + Validity period or expiry date of the practicing license.

      - The person whose practising license is revoked meets the Government’s regulations on re-issuance of practising licenses;

      - It is issued ultra vires;
