Has a Malaria Vaccine Been Developed Yet?
Based on Section I of the Guidelines for Surveillance and Prevention of Malaria (issued together with Decision 4922/QD-BYT in 2021) stipulates as follows:
Main characteristics of malaria
Disease prevention: There is currently no vaccine available. Current measures focus on extermination and preventing mosquito bites by: Indoor residual spraying; using chemically treated bed nets or hammocks; employing mosquito repellent measures. Additionally, combine environmental sanitation and biological measures to kill mosquitoes and larvae. Early detection and treatment with primaquine to kill gametocytes and eliminate the source of infection for those with malaria.
Therefore, there is currently no vaccine for malaria prevention, and efforts are primarily focused on extermination and preventing mosquito bites through various methods.
Sincerely!
