Do the San Diu ethnic people have their health insurance covered by the state budget of Vietnam?

Clause 6, Article 1 of the Law on amendments to the Law on Health Insurance 2014, stipulates the persons eligible for health insurance in Vietnam.

Groups covered by the state budget include:

- Persons from poor households; ethnic minorities living in economically and socially disadvantaged regions; persons living in especially disadvantaged economic and social regions; persons living in island communes and island districts;

San Diu is an ethnic minority in our country; however, members of this ethnicity are only covered by the state budget for health insurance (granted free health insurance) when living in economically and socially disadvantaged regions. Therefore, not all ethnic minorities such as San Diu are granted free health insurance; it depends on the region they reside in.
