Conditions for Issuing Practicing Certificates for Physicians: Is Certification of Practice Process Required?
Based on Clause 2, Article 18 of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment of 2009, stipulating the conditions for granting practice certificates to Vietnamese individuals as follows:
- Possess one of the following diplomas or certificates suitable for the form of medical examination and treatment practice:
a) Professional diploma related to healthcare, issued or recognized in Vietnam;
b) Certificate of traditional medicine practitioner;
c) Certificate of a person with traditional remedies or traditional treatment methods.
- Written confirmation of the practice process, except in the case of a traditional medicine practitioner, a person with traditional remedies, or a person with traditional treatment methods.
Thus, when considering the conditions for granting practice certificates to traditional medicine practitioners, it is not necessary to have written confirmation of the practice process. However, other remaining conditions must be ensured, such as: Certificate of traditional medicine practitioner; Certificate of sufficient health to practice medical examination and treatment; Not being in the period of prohibited practice... according to the provisions of this article.
