Can one participate in military service with a missing little finger joint?
Based on Appendix 1 Classification of Health by Physical Condition and Illness (Issued together with Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP), it is stipulated:
Loss of fingers, toes:
- Loss of 1 joint:
+ Of 1 thumb: Score 4
+ Of the right index finger: Score 4
+ Of 1 big toe: Score 4
+ Of 1 other finger or toe: Score 3
According to the provisions of Clause 4 Article 9 Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, the classification of health of citizens participating in the military service health examination is based on the points given for 8 criteria recorded in the military service health report. Specifically:
- Type 1: All 8 criteria achieve score 1;
- Type 2: At least 1 criterion scores 2;
- Type 3: At least 1 criterion scores 3;
- Type 4: At least 1 criterion scores 4;
- Type 5: At least 1 criterion scores 5;
- Type 6: At least 1 criterion scores 6.
Thus, in your case, losing one joint of the right little finger will classify your health as type 3.
And Point a Clause 3 Article 4 Circular 148/2018/TT-BQP provides for the health standards for enlistment as follows:
Select citizens with health types 1, 2, 3 according to the provisions of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP dated June 30, 2016 of the Minister of Health and the Minister of Defense, providing for the health examination for military service.
Thus, from the above regulations, you are still eligible for military service recruitment if you meet the remaining stipulated conditions.
Respectfully!
