Can an Associate Degree Holder Open a Pharmacy in the City?
- According to the provisions at Point d, Clause 1, Article 33 of the 2016 Pharmaceutical Law, private pharmacies must have a location, storage area, storage equipment, professional technical documents, and personnel meeting Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) standards; for pharmacies specializing in the retail of medicinal herbs, herbal medicines, and traditional medicines, compliance must be in accordance with Point b, Clause 2, Article 69 of the 2016 Pharmaceutical Law.
- According to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 33 and Clause 1, Article 18 of the 2016 Pharmaceutical Law, the person responsible for pharmaceutical expertise at the pharmacy must:
+ Hold one of the following professional degrees:
A university degree in pharmacy (hereinafter referred to as a Pharmacist degree);
A college degree in pharmacy;
An intermediate degree in pharmacy;
+ Have 18 months of professional practice at a relevant pharmaceutical establishment.
Thus, regardless of whether it is in an urban or rural area, when you have a college degree in pharmacy and meet other conditions, you can open a pharmacy.
