Can a Health Insurance Card without a Photo be Used for Medical Examinations?
Clause 1, Article 15 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP stipulates procedures for medical examination and treatment covered by health insurance as follows:
Health insurance participants, when going for medical examination and treatment, must present their health insurance card with a photo; in case the health insurance card does not have a photo, they must present one of the personal identification documents with a photo issued by a competent authority or an identification certificate from the Commune Police or other documents certified by the educational institution managing students; other legal personal identification documents.
According to the aforementioned regulations, in the case where the health insurance card does not have a photo, you can still use it for medical examination and treatment and enjoy normal benefits.
When going for medical examination and treatment where the card does not have a photo, you must present personal identification documents with a photo, legal personal identification documents such as an ID card or a citizen identification card, etc.
