Are fosterers of people with meritorious services to the revolution of Vietnam entitled to Covid-19 assistance?
Pursuant to Section 5, Part II, Resolution 42/ND-CP of 2020, which stipulates additional support for certain groups of subjects benefiting from social protection and preferential policies during the epidemic period as follows:
People who have contributed to the revolution and are receiving monthly preferential allowances will receive an additional VND 500,000 per person per month. The application period is 3 months, from April to June 2020, and will be paid once.
And according to Article 1 of the amended Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution 2012 issued by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the categories of people with meritorious services to the revolution are listed as follows:
a) Revolutionaries active before January 01, 1945;
b) Revolutionaries active from January 01, 1945 to the August 1945 Uprising;
c) Martyrs;
d) Vietnamese heroic mothers;
dd) Heroes of the People's Armed Forces;
e) Labor heroes during the resistance period;
g) War invalids, those entitled to war invalids’ policies;
h) Sick soldiers;
i) Resistance activists contaminated with toxic chemicals;
k) Revolutionaries or resistance activists captured and imprisoned by the enemy;
l) Resistance activists participating in national liberation, defense, and international duty;
m) People who rendered service to the revolution.
=> Therefore, according to the aforementioned regulations, relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution, in your case, are caring for a Vietnamese heroic mother. You will not be entitled to the Covid-19 allowance, but your mother will receive the aforementioned amount.
