Do Cosmetic Labels Have to Include Expiration Date Information?
Is it necessary for cosmetic labels to include expiration date information? Please advise.
According to Clause 1, Article 10 of Decree 43/2017/ND-CP, the mandatory contents on goods labels are regulated as follows:
a) Name of the goods;
b) Name and address of the organization or individual responsible for the goods;
c) Origin of the goods;
d) Other contents depending on the nature of each type of goods as specified in Appendix I of this Decree and related legal documents.
Pursuant to Appendix I of this Decree, cosmetics must contain the following additional information:
a) Quantity;
b) Ingredients or ingredient quantities;
c) Batch number;
d) Manufacture date or expiration date/use by date;
dd) For products with a stability period of less than 30 months, the expiration date must be indicated;
e) Instructions for use, unless the presentation form clearly demonstrates how to use the product;
g) Information and warnings.
Thus, according to regulations, for cosmetic products with a stability period of less than 30 months, it is mandatory to indicate the expiration date.
Sincerely!
