Are Performances by Foreign Singers in Vietnam Protected by Related Rights?
According to Clause 1, Article 17 of the 2005 Intellectual Property Law, the related rights subjects shall be protected as follows:
Performances shall be protected if they fall into one of the following categories:
- Performances by Vietnamese citizens conducted in Vietnam or abroad;
- Performances by foreign individuals conducted in Vietnam;
- Performances which are fixed on audio or video recordings protected under the provisions of Article 30 of this Law;
- Performances which have not been fixed on audio or video recordings but have been broadcast protected under the provisions of Article 31 of this Law;

Thus, performances by foreign individuals conducted in Vietnam are protected under the related rights. In relation to your case, a foreign singer invited to perform in Da Nang will be protected under the aforementioned provisions.
