What is the deadline for temporary residence registration?
According to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 30 of the Residence Law 2006, temporary residence registration is regulated as follows:
Persons living, working, laboring, or studying at a location within a commune, ward, commune-level town but not eligible for permanent residence registration at that locality are required to register for temporary residence at the Police of the commune, ward, commune-level town within thirty days from the date of arrival.
Thus, in your case, there is no administrative penalty. However, you must register for temporary residence within 30 days from the date of arrival.
In Clause 1, Article 8 of Decree 167/2013/ND-CP, violations of residence registration and management regulations are handled as follows:
A fine of 100,000 VND to 300,000 VND is imposed for one of the following acts:
a) Individuals, heads of households failing to comply with regulations on permanent residence registration, temporary residence registration, or adjustments to changes in household registration books, temporary residence books;
b) Individuals, heads of households failing to comply with regulations on lodging notifications, temporary absence declarations;
c) Failure to comply with household registration checks, temporary residence checks, lodging checks, or failure to present household registration books, temporary residence books, or other documents related to residence as requested by competent authorities.
