Vietnam: Is its validity period included in a chip-based Citizen Identity Card?
Under Article 3 of Circular 06/2021/TT-BCA on the Citizen Identity Card model issued by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, there are regulations on the shape, size, content, specifications, other languages, and material of the Citizen Identity Card in Vietnam as follows:
1. Shape, Size
The Citizen Identity Card has a rectangular shape with a width of 53.98 mm ± 0.12 mm, a length of 85.6 mm ± 0.12 mm, a thickness of 0.76 mm ± 0.08 mm, and four rounded corners with a radius r = 3.18 mm ± 0.3 mm.
2. Content
a) The front side of the Citizen Identity Card includes the following information:
- On the left, from top to bottom: The National Emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, with a diameter of 12 mm; the photo of the cardholder, 20 x 30 mm in size; "Có giá trị đến/Date of expiry";
- On the right, from top to bottom: "CỘNG HÒA XÃ HỘI CHỦ NGHĨA VIỆT NAM; Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc; SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIET NAM; Independence - Freedom - Happiness"' the text "CĂN CƯỚC CÔNG DÂN/Citizen Identity Card"; chip symbol; QR Code; "Số/No; Họ và tên/Full name"; "Ngày sinh/Date of birth'; "Giới tính/Sex"; "Quốc tịch/Nationality"; "Quê quán/Place of origin"; "Nơi thường trú/Place of residence";
Thus, according to the above regulations, the validity period shall be specified in the chip-based Citizen Identity Card in Vietnam.
