Time Limit for Providing Information on Residence?

At Article 17 of Circular 55/2021/TT-BCA, there are provisions on confirming information regarding residence, as follows:

- Citizens requesting confirmation of information about residence can visit the residence registration agency nationwide directly, regardless of their place of residence, to request confirmation of information regarding residence or submit a request for confirmation of information about residence through the National Public Service Portal, the Ministry of Public Security's Public Service Portal, or the Residence Management Public Service Portal.

- The content for confirmation of information regarding residence includes the duration, location, and method of residence registration. The confirmation of information regarding residence is valid for 06 months from the date of issuance for cases specified in Clause 1, Article 19 of the Law on Residence regarding residence declaration and is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance for cases of confirmation of residence information. In cases where the information about a citizen's residence changes, is adjusted, and is updated in the Residence Database, the confirmation of information regarding residence becomes invalid from the time of the change.

- Within 03 working days, the residence registration agency is responsible for confirming the information regarding residence in written form (with the signature and stamp of the head of the residence registration agency) or in electronic form (with the digital signature of the head of the residence registration agency) according to the citizen’s request.

- In cases where the content requested for confirmation by individuals or households has not been updated in the Residence Database, the residence registration agency shall guide citizens through the procedures to adjust the information in the Residence Database according to the provisions of Article 26 of the Law on Residence.

=> Thus, according to the above provisions, within the time limit of 3 days from the date the residence agency receives a valid dossier, the agency must fulfill the request to confirm the information regarding residence as per the citizen's request.
