Request for Certification of Marital Status for Marriage Must Specify the Intended Place of Registration
Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 12 of Circular 04/2020/TT-BTP, it is stipulated:
In the case of requesting the issuance of a Certificate of Marital Status for the purpose of marriage, the civil registration authority shall issue one (01) copy to the requester. The Certificate of Marital Status must clearly state the full name, year of birth, nationality, identification documents of the intended spouse, and the intended place of marriage registration.
Example: This certificate is issued for the purpose of marriage procedures with Mr. Nguyen Viet K, born in 1962, a Vietnamese citizen, Passport No: B123456 issued by the Vietnamese Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany on February 01, 2020; at the People's Committee of Hoai Duc District, Hanoi City.
Thus, according to the regulations, in the case of requesting the issuance of a Certificate of Marital Status for the purpose of marriage, the Certificate of Marital Status must clearly state the full name, year of birth, nationality, identification documents of the intended spouse, and the intended place of marriage registration. The intended place of marriage registration is also a mandatory detail that must be included in the Certificate of Marital Status.
