One-Time Child Support Payment: Is Further Support Required?
According to Clause 2, Article 82 of the 2014 Law on Marriage and Family, it is stipulated that parents who do not directly raise their children are obligated to provide child support.
The amount and method of support are agreed upon by the obligated person and the recipient or their guardian.
Support can be provided periodically every month, quarterly, biannually, annually, or as a lump sum. (Article 117).
When there are justifiable reasons, the amount of support can be changed. The change in the support amount is agreed upon by the parties; if no agreement can be reached, the court will resolve it. (Clause 2, Article 116).
According to the information you provided, you and your spouse have agreed on a lump sum child support obligation of VND 500 million. However, according to regulations, the amount of support can change when there are justifiable reasons. Thus, in the future, your wife may still request additional support for the child if there are justifiable reasons.
Sincerely!
