Medical Examination Before or After Submitting Marriage Registration Application with a Foreigner?
Clause 1, Article 38 of the 2014 Civil Status Law stipulates the procedure for marriage registration with foreigners as follows:
Both male and female parties must submit a declaration form as prescribed and a certification from a competent medical organization of Vietnam or a foreign country confirming that the person does not suffer from mental illness or other diseases that make them incapable of cognition or control over their behavior to the civil status registration agency.
Foreigners and Vietnamese citizens residing abroad must additionally submit documents proving their marital status, a copy of their passport or a document equivalent to a passport.
=> According to this regulation, when registering for marriage with a foreigner, you must submit a mental health examination certificate and other required documents.
That means you must undergo a mental health examination before submitting the marriage registration dossier with a foreigner.
Respectfully!
