May a penalty be imposed for specifying incorrect information about educational level on the Chip-based Citizen Identity Card?
According to Clause 2 Article 3 of Circular 06/2021/TT-BCA, the information specified on the Citizen Identity Card in Vietnam includes:
* The front side of the Citizen Identity Card contains the following information:
- On the left, from top to bottom: The National Emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 12 mm in diameter; photograph of the cardholder, size 20 x 30 mm; Date of expiry.
- On the right, from top to bottom: "SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM; Independence - Freedom - Happiness/CỘNG HÒA XÃ HỘI CHỦ NGHĨA VIỆT NAM; Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc"; the words "CITIZEN IDENTITY CARD/Căn cước công dân"; chip symbol; QR code; No; Full name; Date of birth; Sex; Nationality; Place of origin; Place of residence.
* The back side of the Citizen Identity Card in Vietnam contains the following information:
- On the left, from top to bottom: Personal identification; Date, month, year; DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT OF SOCIAL ORDER; signature, and full name of the authorized person issuing the card; seal of the issuing authority with the National Emblem; electronic chip.
- On the right, from top to bottom: Contains 2 fields: Left index finger and Right index finger of the cardholder.
- MRZ line.
Thus, the Chip-based Citizen Identity Card does not include information about the educational level. Information about the educational level is stored in the Citizen ID management software. Therefore, incorrect information about educational level does not significantly affect your Citizen Identity Card. Currently, there is no regulation to penalize this action. However, if you wish to modify the educational information in your application, you can contact the ID management agency for assistance.
