Is the Citizen Identification Card proof of Vietnamese nationality?

Based on Article 11 of the Law on Vietnamese Nationality 2008, it is stipulated:

One of the following documents is valid proof of Vietnamese nationality:

1. Birth certificate; in case the birth certificate does not clearly indicate Vietnamese nationality, it must be accompanied by documents proving the Vietnamese nationality of the parents;

2. Identity card;

3. Vietnamese passport;

4. Decision on granting Vietnamese nationality, Decision on returning to Vietnamese nationality, Decision on recognizing the adoption of a child by a foreigner, Decision on allowing a foreigner to adopt a Vietnamese child.

Therefore, although the current regulations have not yet supplemented the CCCD, the entire country is currently implementing the issuance of CCCD to replace the CMND in the future. Therefore, it can be understood that CCCD is still one of the documents proving Vietnamese nationality.
