According to Article 21 of the 2014 Law on Citizenship Identification, it is stipulated:
- The Citizen Identification Card must be renewed when the citizen reaches 25 years old, 40 years old, and 60 years old.
- In the event that the Citizen Identification Card is issued, renewed, reissued within 2 years prior to the ages specified in Clause 1 of this Article, it remains valid until the next age-based renewal.
=> As such, in your case, if you are 24 years old this year and you go through the procedure for obtaining the citizen identification card, you will not need to renew it when you turn 25. You will only need to renew your citizen identification card when you turn 40 years old.
