Is it permitted to wear glasses when taking a photo for a passport?
According to Clause 1, Article 6, Circular 29/2016/ND-BCA, the documented requirements for applying, amending, and supplementing a passport are as follows:
Documentation includes:
- 01 completed Application Form X01;
- 02 recent photos, size 4cm x 6cm, face-on view, head uncovered, without colored glasses, with a white background. Children under 09 years old applying jointly with father or mother must submit 02 photos, size 3cm x 4cm;
- Children under 14 years old must submit 01 certified copy or a notarized copy of the birth certificate. If no certified copy is available, the original must be presented for verification and comparison.
According to the aforementioned regulations, photos for passport applications must not show the applicant wearing colored glasses. Therefore, you may wear prescription glasses provided that the glasses are not excessively large and the frames are not too thick to avoid glare in the photos.
Sincerely!
