Is it necessary to change the Citizenship Identity Card (CCCD) when transferring household registration?

Yes, because I recently changed my household registration, the information on my ID card does not match the household registration. So, may I ask if I need to change my ID card?

According to Article 23 of the Law on Citizen Identification 2014, regulations on cases of changing and reissuing citizen identification cards include:

- The citizen identification card shall be changed in the following cases:

+ The cases prescribed in Clause 1, Article 21 of this Law;

+ The card is damaged and cannot be used;

+ Changes in information about surname, middle name, first name; distinctive characteristics;

+ Re-determining gender, hometown;

+ Errors in the information on the citizen identification card;

+ Upon citizen's request.

- The citizen identification card shall be reissued in the following cases:

+ The citizen identification card is lost;

+ Returning to Vietnamese nationality as prescribed by the Law on Vietnamese Nationality.

Based on the above regulations, in the case of changing household registration, it is not mandatory to change the citizen identification card. However, if you wish to change it for more convenient procedures or to match the household registration book, you may request a reissuance of the card.

Respectfully!
