Is it mandatory to wear a white shirt when taking a Citizen ID photo?
Based on Point d, Clause 1, Article 12 of Circular 07/2016/TT-BCA, the photograph for the chip-based Citizen Identification Card must satisfy the following conditions:
- The portrait photo of the citizen must be a frontal shot, with the head uncovered, face clear, both ears visible, and without glasses;
- Clothing and demeanor must be serious and polite; specialized clothing should not be worn when taking the photo for the Citizen Identification Card;
- For citizens who follow a religion or belong to an ethnicity, it is permissible to wear the religious or ethnic ceremonial attire, and if there is a headscarf, it can be worn while taking the photo for the Citizen Identification Card but must ensure facial clarity.
Thus, the current law does not mandate specific clothing when taking photos for the chip-based Citizen Identification Card, but only requires serious and polite clothing, excluding specialized attire.
Although there is no mandatory requirement regarding the color of the attire, it is recommended to wear a white shirt to ensure a more beautiful, clear, and easily comparable image for identification purposes when using the chip-based Citizen Identification Card.
Respectfully!
