Is it mandatory to have the father's name on the birth certificate?
According to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 15 of Decree 123/2015/ND-CP, regulations on birth registration when the father is not yet determined are as follows: “In cases where the father is not yet determined, when registering the birth, the child's surname, ethnicity, hometown, and nationality shall be identified according to the surname, ethnicity, hometown, and nationality of the mother; the section recording the father in the Civil Registry and the Child’s Birth Certificate shall be left blank.”
Thus, in your friend's case, as she has not yet registered marriage with anyone, the father of your friend’s child has not been determined. When registering the birth, the child's surname, ethnicity, hometown, and nationality will be identified according to her surname, ethnicity, hometown, and nationality.
Respectfully!
