How Should You Handle a Neighbor Allowing Rainwater to Flow into Your Property?
Based on Article 250 of the Civil Code 2015, the obligations of the owner concerning rainwater drainage are outlined as follows:
The owner of a house or other construction works must install drainage pathways in such a way that rainwater from the roof or their construction works does not flow onto the adjacent property of a neighboring property owner.
According to the above regulation, your neighbor is responsible for installing a rainwater drainage system such that rainwater does not flow onto the adjacent property (your house, as well as the surrounding houses).
In this case, you should first negotiate with your neighbor, requesting that they rectify their rainwater drainage system. If this person continues their behavior, you should then request local authorities to intervene and correct this behavior.
Sincerely!
